What Are The Spa's Opening Hours?
The Avello Spa is open 8am to 9pm daily. Times may vary depending on the seasons. The Health Club and pool area is open 6am to 10pm daily. Adult Only times are 8am - 9am and 9pm - 10pm.
Do We Have Any Practising RMTs?
We do not currently have RMTs however all of our therapists are certified in the profession in which they practice. British Columbia does not recognize other province or country registrations; therefore treatments cannot be reimbursed through your medical plan. Receipts cannot be issued for medical rebate.
What If I Can’t Make My Spa Reservation?
Because your spa appointments are reserved specifically for you, we ask that you notify the spa reservations staff a minimum of 24 hours in advance should you need to cancel or reschedule to avoid a full charge for the service. All no-show appointments will be charged in full.
What if I am running late?
We ask encourage all guests to arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time. If a late arrival is unavoidable, please call to notify the spa receptionist.
Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, as we must complete your service by the designated end time in order to appropriately accommodate the next guest.
Where Can I Park?
There are 8 designated spaces in the Westin Resort's Underground parking lot for Avello Spa guests. Parking is free for two hours. Please follow the signs to Shops at the Westin Resort P3 and park in the designated stalls on Level 2.These spaces are distributed on a first come first serve basis.
What Should I Wear?
We ask that hotel guests come down in the robes and slippers that are provided in their rooms.
Guests not staying at the hotel and having more than one treatment will be provided a robe and slippers to wear while visiting our Spa, and will be assigned a locker to store any personal belongings.
During spa treatments, it is recommended that you experience body services without clothing. Our therapists are professionally trained and will ensure a level of comfort by appropriately draping areas of the body that are not a focus of the treatment.
We require that swimming attire be worn in all co-ed whirlpool, sauna and steam facilities. Clothing is optional in those areas designated by gender.
Shall I Shave Before My Treatment?
Generally, shaving is not recommended prior to any treatments or hair removal services. However, we do recommend that men shave prior to a facial treatment at least 2 hours before the scheduled appointment time.
Can I Choose The Gender Of My Therapist? When booking an appointment please let us know if you have a gender preference. All of our therapists are professionally trained and will offer you the highest standard of service with continuous consideration for your comfort level.
Where can I store my valuables?
All lockers will have a security mechanism (such as a key or combination lock), however it is recommended that you leave valuable items in the safe in your guest room, at home, or for hotel guests, in one of the safety deposit boxes at the front desk of the hotel.
Can I use my Cell Phone?
The Avello Spa is a relaxation Spa. Quiet and calm are of the utmost importance to our guests – that’s why we ask that you turn off your cell phones before entering the Spa and during your treatments.
What If I Am Pregnant Or Have Special Health Considerations?
If you have any health concerns, or are pregnant, please be sure to notify Spa staff when booking your treatment. Our reception staff can offer guidance as to which treatments will be the most beneficial and those that should be avoided due to physical limitations or sensitivity.
We cannot perform massage on women in their first trimester of pregnancy. We do however have specialized pregnancy pillows for our expecting mothers over this time.
Avello is wheelchair accessible for all treatments in the Spa.
Can I Have An Alcoholic Beverage While Having My Treatment?
The Avello Spa is not liscenced to serve alcohol so we cannot offer this service. However we do offer a range of non-alcholic spa refreshments for your enjoyment.
Can I Choose How Much Pressure Is Used During My Massage?
Please communicate your preferences for the level of massage pressure with the your therapist so that they can make your time with us a personal, and memorable experience.
Is There An Age Minimum For Your Treatments?
Guests must be aged at least 16 years of age to experience a spa treatment. If under the age of 16, guests must be accompanied by a guardian. If available, salon services are offered to guests of all ages.
Which Methods Of Payment Does The Spa Accept?
We accept all major credit cards and cash. All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars. We do also accept US Dollars.
What Is The Recommended Gratuity For Your Treatments?
Our Spa Staff are dedicated to exceeding your expectations and creating a memorable spa experience. For the comfort of our guests who come from all over the world an 18% gratuity and 5% GST will be added to all services and packages. We recognize that gratuity is based on service received. You are welcome to increase or decrease the amount depending on your personal experience. Please see the spa receptionist upon check out to make any adjustments.
Where Can I Purchase Gift Certificates?
You may purchase Gift Certificates for a specific dollar amount either online or at the reception desk of the Spa.
